Reading is essential for those who seek to rise above the ordinary.
Jim Ron
I always tell my students if they want to score well in their composition writing, one of the ways is to read extensively. By reading, I meant reading heavier materials like newspapers. Get inspiration from current affairs, adopt the ideas and adapt them to fit into your storyboard when you brainstorm.
Using this Case Study, allow me to brief you on how you can use newspaper articles to your advantage in writing.
I love to use mnemonics, as usual. Thus I want you to leave this post thinking of the 3Rs - no, not the recycling lingo. Instead, I want your child to READ newspapers for REALISTIC and RELATABLE ideas instead of boring and predictable stories. These are my 3Rs for your child.

A helpful tip I encourage my students is to take a deep breath before starting to write. Using the three questions in Picture 2, have your child to put some thoughts on the question title, and the pictures given.

If your child has been upkeeping with the news, he would have recalled reading a similar article. He would then use some ideas from the news article, and adapt them to suit his composition.
Below is a suggested plot flow for this Case Study. My plot flow method is very effective so far, and with one glance, I can tell if a child's composition will turn out well. From the suggested guide, you can tell that the story is loosely based on an actual news article that was published.

In conclusion, if you have been READING newspapers, you can easily adapt news articles into RELATABLE and REALISTIC compositions. (3Rs)
