The day’s lesson was on decorating their DIY wooden shakers and forming a story with the shakers. The class got busy thinking of what to draw and how to decorate. After completing their crafts, we got them to tell us what they had drawn on their shakers. We jotted down their characters and we challenged them to form a story using all of their characters. Initially clueless, the class soon warmed up and their suggestions were interesting! We neatened up their sentence structures, edited their grammatical errors and weaved vocabulary words into their story. It was a great lesson!
