A suitable experiment to show how certain foods contain starch is via the iodine solution test. We grabbed what we had, added in the different food groups and went ahead to show our boys. However, we questioned the class that the experiment was not a fair test, and asked them how to make changes to ensure the test was accurate and reliable. Sounds familiar right? Yeap, some questions in the Science papers do ask as such.
The boys were able to respond appropriately. Can you make the guesses?
We dripped the iodine solution and observed. Blue black – starch / Yellowish Brown – no starch. Are your answers correct?
