I love how this parent react to her girl’s not so good results. Indeed, whether a child does well or not in exams, it is like a side dish. The main dish is more of how well a child is able to grasp the topics and understanding. A child may have a good understanding on the contents of a topic, but may be weak in applying or other factors that we need to investigate and re-mediate. And the results reflected may or may not be true of a child’s actual capability. If only more parents think like her and not treat each marks on paper as their children’s measure of success. Of course, I want my students to achieve good results too, but in the process, there must be actual learning, processing and understanding. We will strive on to work hard together!
