As our students were not able to let us know which topic their schools are teaching, we did a lesson on Life Cycles as a recap. We find that recapping topics in intervals help students remember their lessons better, and not rely on last minute mugging.
We set up the materials for them, went through lesson details, got them to read and highlight important concepts in their Investigating Tasks books. We encourage our students to set up their own experiments, do their own observations and write down their own conclusion. We will guide them after they have completed their work.
The class was very excited and curious as they have not grown such seeds before. Their task was to bring back their experiment and observe over the week and record any observations seen. Let us wait till the next lesson to check if their “sowing seeds” are successful!
