These boys exams are over! Time for some good Science fun! We started off from Lower Block work, and oh my, they seemed to forget what they had learnt. It’s normal actually, as it had been a long period and if there is no recap, memories cannot be retained. Hence, that’s my mission for always… Continue reading 2018 – Science Recap (p5 Science) – magnets

2018 – Crayons Remake! (P6 science) – man & environment, materials
This was a popular request among my p5 and p6. My p6 girls asked me if I could do the crayons activity I did with my p5 girls. Sure, why not! It’s still a lesson, anyway. 🙂 Excited girls choosing ‘candies’ again. Different age group but same expression. Lovely swirls of melted goodness. This topic… Continue reading 2018 – Crayons Remake! (P6 science) – man & environment, materials
2018 – Ramps & Forces (p6 science)
X was the Lone Ranger in completing his experiment alone (for now), but he is really responsible and has a very good attitude to complete the activity from start to end. From setting up to measuring to recording, he has displayed a very serious yet sporting attitude. Great job!
2018 – Magnet Fun! (p4 science)
My p4s did a magnet fun activity today. Went through the basic lesson contents and off they were to their activity! They were to find 10 objects in the room, and predict which items were magnetic/non-magnetic. After which, they were to use a magnet to test, as shown below. After recording their observations, they wrote… Continue reading 2018 – Magnet Fun! (p4 science)
2018 – Up & Away (p6 science)
Did this activity again, this time with my p6 girls. Another good work produced!
2018 – Mouldy Bread, Stacking Cups (p6 science)
Results from last week’s experiment was interesting. The boys had never seen orange mound and they were curious. It’s good exposure that their vocab extends beyond ‘black, grey, green’ in describing fungi. Went through recap and building in of key words via the experiment. Next on, stacking cups with food chain templates. Gave my instructions… Continue reading 2018 – Mouldy Bread, Stacking Cups (p6 science)
2018 – Forces (p6 science)
P6 lesson on forces, an apt activity is making a parachute to teach gravitational and frictional forces. X was really serious in his work and he put in alot of effort. He tried many times before he managed to piece all together. Love the notes and hands on done by X. Experiment was successful! (After… Continue reading 2018 – Forces (p6 science)
2018 – Food Chain (p6 science)
Another fun activity on demonstrating how a food chain works, using cups! Girls went straight to work after understanding the instructions and procedures. Food Chain Stacko! Through this, they get a much clearer picture of the topic. Cute drawings by E too. 🙂
2018 – Fungi/Food Web Fun (p6 Science)
Materials prepared for today’s lesson. Boys were ready to grow their fungi experiment. It’s a simple p3 work, but I got them to link to the p6 topic on Interactions Within The Environment. It really got them thinking…. really hard. Part of it was they had forgotten what they had learnt in p3. After drilling… Continue reading 2018 – Fungi/Food Web Fun (p6 Science)
