After a Mother’s Day craft, it’s time to do for dads too! It was an easy to paste on craft and they were really creative in pasting their final prices. Time was running as they had to complete their compo writing from previous week. They had no time to write about their daddies. Hope they… Continue reading 2018 – Dads For Life! 2018 – News Articles (p6 English)
I love using the w+h model to teach my 3in1 English pack. Will explain more in the next post. One of the 3 in 1s is the compre technique. From any news articles, one can easily find the w+h questions and answers with much practice. YT is a student referred by my dear Friend and… Continue reading 2018 – News Articles (p6 English)
2018 – Character Cards (p4 English)
With the twins today, I did a quick test on how imaginative they are. I’m pretty impressed by how much depth they have! Never estimate a child’s ability to imagine, he or she just needs the opportunity to shine. Same procedures, give them a stack of cards, lay them out and choose 5 cards to… Continue reading 2018 – Character Cards (p4 English)
2018 – Aeroplane (p2 English)
J was very excited when he saw what was on the table as below. He shyly asked if he could bring that back after lesson. I said why not? You got to decorate it first and write a story, before bringing it back. He was so excited. He drew, he chopped and he coloured. He… Continue reading 2018 – Aeroplane (p2 English)
2018 – Ice Cream & Doggy (k2 English)
Got both my girls to complete an activity that I had prepared earlier. They went straight to work and were very serious to complete their job. After their artwork, we worked on their sentences writing. It was more of a Q&A style as they had so much to share that I had to keep to… Continue reading 2018 – Ice Cream & Doggy (k2 English)
2018 – PSLE Oral Skills (p6 English)
Taking a break from the sa1, we turned our focus on preparing for PSLE oral, the newspapers way. Got them to source suitable articles from the papers, do the w+h and present their work. After the presentation, there will be a Q&A section where they were challenged to think on their feet. Not bad!
2018 – Beach & Zoo Outing (Lower Primary English)
No… not the physical places. It was a virtual experience. Did something different with my class again. Got them to watch short video clips and pointed them to watch out for sights, sounds, colours, emotions to write out later. Printed out for them to observe and orally tell me what they see and I helped… Continue reading 2018 – Beach & Zoo Outing (Lower Primary English)
2018 – Adjectives Visual Mapping (p4 English)
Exams over! Had the freedom to do what I planned for my p4 class. Learning adjectives in the form of mind maps. As I guessed, the vocab area isn’t strong and it’s a good time to expand the words used in compo writing. It was amusing to see them cracking their brains to think of… Continue reading 2018 – Adjectives Visual Mapping (p4 English)
2018 – Gift To Mummy (Lower Primary English)
Love is in the air this month…. for mummies! Class was excited to make a gift for their beloved mums! But not without work first. We did writing first, before craft, so they will focus more on their writing before crafting. After going through procedural writing steps with them, off they went to write out… Continue reading 2018 – Gift To Mummy (Lower Primary English)
