2018 – Kaleidoscope (p6 Science)

The boys pumped their fists in the air when they heard there was no need to do any practice papers. Boys will be boys, but I love the energy in them.

They cheered further on when they saw what they were going to do. I do miss the times when I was teaching in a boys school. I quickly got them to read the instructions and get cracking. They needed no further nagging as compared to mugging practice papers.

They saw my boys Dino stickers and wanted to paste them on their kaleidoscopes. It was hilarious seeing them fight for the stickers. I am sure my boys will be like them too. But I am enjoying it!

I challenged them to investigate what it would like to when they stack their kaleidoscopes together and observe via the mirrors. They gamely accepted and were amazed at what they see. I got them to link to Light energy and the properties of light.

Lessons always end in a blink of an eye when there is fun. They were reluctant to head home but I had the next class to teach. Great fun!
